Block Paving

Block Paving Cleaning - Professional Pressure Washing Services
Block paved driveways and patios often suffer with weed growth between the bricks and build-up of dirt and moss.
Our professional pressure washing services for block paving include:

Powerful Pressure Washing
Our team uses high-pressure washing equipment set to produce up to 200 BAR pressure at same time outputting 21 Litres of water per minute. High water output is of great benefit where it comes to efficient cleaning of block paving.
To enhance the process we also use hot water or steam, our professional equipment can produce up to 150 degrees celcius.
Combined - 200 BAR, 21 litters per minute and hot water up to 150 degrees delivers the best results that can not be achieved with diy equipment.
Use of a turbo nozzle is often essential for deep clean on block paving. This 0-degree nozzle spins inside the housing covering circular area, effectively removing dirt, moss, and weeds from between the bricks.
After the cleaning process, we refill the gaps with dry paving sand / kiln dried sand to stabilize the bricks.

Sodium Hypochlorite Softwash
In addition to pressure washing, we also offer (as standard) sodium hypochlorite based softwash for a deep, thorough clean. This step takes the cleaning process to another level and can significantly enhance the appearance of your block paving. We apply the chemical after pressure washing and initial rinsing so it can act to remove any remaining algae, lichen or other organic growth leaving your driveway spotless clean.

Note: please always follow health and safety instructions and use appropriate protective equipment when using chemicals.

Re-Sanding for Stabilization
Re-sanding your block paving is an important step in maintaining its stability and preventing sinking or sliding of the bricks. We always re-sand block paving after it has dried to ensure the sand settles properly in the gaps between the bricks.

Optional Sealing for Long-Term Protection
For added protection against weed regrowth, we offer sealing services using a high-quality sealant from SmartSeal.
Sealing your block paving also enhances its appearance, colour, and protects it from wear.
The sealant comes in a few varieties including Wet Look, Dry Finish or Colouring for old and worn paving where it's desired.
Sealant is absorbed by the paving and kiln dried sand, once cured it becomes hard creating a barrier for weeds. It's also smoothening the brick surface and repels water what makes the surface less attractive to organic growth.
Sealing can only be completed when surface is perfectly dry meaning it's limited to late spring, summer and early autumn time.

Sealing Preparation and Process
Before sealing, we thoroughly clean your block paving to remove any dirt. The surface must be completely dry (at least one day after cleaning and with no rain forecast for 6-8 hours after completion) before applying the sealant. After the surface has dried, we brush in fresh kiln dried sand and apply the sealant directly after. The sealant can be applied using a sprayer or roller, with two coats recommended for optimal results. It is important that the surface is cleaned to the highest standard before sealing, otherwise the dirt will be sealed in and very difficult to remove /rectify.

Natural Stone / Sandstone

Natural Stone Cleaning and Maintenance - Professional Pressure Washing and Softwashing Service
This section is not applicable to Limestone.

Natural stone is next to none where it comes to the natural beauty it presents in our gardens, unfortunately, due to its porous nature its often affected with algae and other organic growth what makes it loose this colourful, natural appearance. Additionally, pointing can be a weak spot that can crack and allow weeds to grow through. (Our team also offers re-pointing services).

Pressure Washing Step
Natural Stone is very delicate and when it comes to pressure washing it's important to use the right nozzle and pressure to avoid the damage. For best results and safest approach, we use a flat surface cleaner or flat vario nozzle with a wide spray pattern.
Avoid using a turbo nozzle, or if necessary, reduce pressure and angle the nozzle at 90 degrees, this will minimise the risk of stone parts chipping away
Although, high pressure is not desirable on natural stone, our professional pressure washing equipment can lover the pressure and keep the high flow of water additionally using hot water / steam what can deliver absolutely optimal cleaning results.

Sodium Hypochlorite Softwash
Softwash is a crucial step in cleaning natural stone. Due to the nature of this stone it's often heavily affected by organic growth that can not be removed in other way to chemical treatment. The softwash application should be done after pressure washing and initial rinsing to ensure that the top layer of the dirt is removed and the treatment can act directly on the stubborn growth itself.
The softwash treatment will remove organic growth and improve the finish of the stone making it look natural again. In more severe cases the treatment has to be re-applied multiple times with additional rinse or light pressure wash in between to fully remove stubborn algae, this is a game of patience and persistence.

Always refer to health and safety instructions and use protective equipment when using chemicals.

Optional Sealing for added protection and prolonged results
Sealing your natural stone is optional. We recommend using a high-quality breathable sealant that can add protection and ease the maintenance. Cheap sealers from DIY stores will not deliver the same results. We work with SmartSeal sealants which are available in a few varieties of finish - Dry Finish, Wet Look, Colour Enhancing and ULTIMATE Colour Enhance - Speak to our team for more information and to choose the option that suits your desires the most!

The benefits of sealing include:

•    Protecting the stone from damage
•    Increasing water repellence and stain resistance
•    Making the surface less porous and less attractive to organic growth
•    Simplifying cleaning and maintenance
•    Enhancing the color of the stone

Before sealing, make sure the surface is cleaned to the highest standard. Any dirt left on the surface will be difficult or impossible to remove once the sealant is applied. Allow a minimum of one day for the surface to dry completely after cleaning, and make sure no rain is forecasted for at least 6-8 hours after sealing. If the surface is not fully dry, the sealant will trap moisture and cause surface whiteness.
Sealing can only be completed when surface is perfectly dry meaning it's limited to late spring, summer and early autumn time.

Apply the sealant with a roller, saturating the stone with one coat. The sealant should be absorbed immediately and will repel excess. Do not leave excess sealant on the surface, as it will cure and become difficult to remove. In rare cases, if the stone is very porous, repelling may not be achieved even after multiple applications. Always test a small area first.

Let our team professionally pressure wash, softwash and (if desired) seal your patio and make it look great again. We also offer re-pointing service.

Imprinted Concrete

Imprinted Concrete - Professional Pressure Washing, Softwashing and Sealing Service
Imprinted concrete cleaning and maintenance is straightforward, but the key is to be consistent and reapply sealant approximately every 5 years. Neglecting this type of surface can result in extensive wear and difficulty in restoring it, especially if it has two-tone colors.

Pressure Washing Step
Imprinted concrete, if it's well looked after can be cleaned easily without use of high pressure and the cleaning process is really easy.
There's almost no risk of damage and you are free to choose any nozzle. For the most time efficient method use flat surface cleaner. Ensure the pressure is high enough to lift the dirt (please note cheap diy pressure washer will not perform unless the concrete is in spotless condition).
Unfortunately, if imprinted concrete was neglected for years it might have became more porous and susceptive to organic growth.
Our team uses professional equipment - up to 200 Bar pressure producing 21 litres of water per minute and up to 150 degrees celcius temperature to ensure the best possible results are achieved.

Sodium Hypochlorite Softwash
We recommend use of softwash to ensure any organic growth is removed from the surface before sealing. Although, imprinted concrete, if not neglected isn't very susceptive to organic growth it's always best to ensure it's as clean as it gets before sealing.

Always refer to health and safety instructions and use protective equipment when using chemicals.

Sealing - Essential approximately every 5 years.
Imprinted concrete is created by pouring concrete and stamping it with pattern and colour. This is then sealed to create a protective layer over the stamp and dye. The original sealant will start to fade and wear over time, if you don't want to loose the original appearance make sure the surface is re-sealed when needed. Please consult a professional, excessive sealant application can result in undesirable outcome.

Neglected imprinted concrete could require a colouring tint to restore the worn sections.

Sealing - Preparation and process
Clean the surface thoroughly before sealing, as dirt left behind will be hard to remove after sealing. Check the silicone in the contraction joints, and replace it if necessary. Allow the surface to dry for at least 1 day after cleaning, and make sure no rain is forecast for 6-8 hours after completion. If the surface isn't fully dry, the sealant will trap moisture and cause whiteness.

Sealant can be applied with a sprayer (for clear coat only) or a soft bristle broom or roller (for tint or antislip granules).

When using tint, test it in a small area for color match and the amount needed. Mix enough for the job to avoid color differences. Stir the product well and regularly to prevent the tint from settling at the bottom of the container.
When using antislip, mix well and regularly to prevent it from settling at the bottom of the container. Spread it evenly to avoid visible lumps. Don't use too much antislip, as excess can be difficult to remove.
Avoid excess sealant, especially with deeper pattern driveways. Sealant can run into these deeper sections and cause bubbling if excessive. Spread it evenly to prevent excess.

Tarmac

Tarmac - Professional Pressure Washing, Softwashing and Restoration Service
Tarmac driveway looks great when new, unfortunately, without proper maintenance, it can start to wear and fade. Regular application of Tarmac restorer every few years can preserve the driveway's look and prevent wear.

Pressure Washing
Tarmac can be cleaned either with use of power brush alike westermann or with low pressure wash. Moss growth on tarmac can seriously damage the surface and it should be regularly removed or controlled with chemicals which are safe to use on tarmac.
When pressure washing you should only use flat surface cleaner or wide spray pattern flat nozzle. Never use turbo nozzle on tarmac. When cleaning with pressure washer adjust the pressure only high enough to gently remove any moss, often you'll have to pass over same area multiple times until moss detaches, if too high pressure is used this will lead to surface damage and strikes will be visible.
Our professional equipment can enhance the cleaning process with high water flow up to 21 litres per minute and up to 150 degrees celcius temperature to ensure the best possible results are achieved.

Softwash
DO NOT use hypochlorite on tarmac. Biocide based products can be used prior to pressure washing to weaken moss and other organic growth making it easier to remove with low pressure.

Always refer to health and safety instructions and use protective equipment when using chemicals.

Sealing - Essential approximately every 5 years.
This step is important for tarmac surfaces and should be completed regularly every few years. Restorer acts as a bonding coat to prevent loss of tarmac as well as restores the black (or red/green) new like appearance. We use SmartSeal restoration products.

Repairs
Holes and cracks can be repaired /filled with cold lay tarmac & restorer.

Let our team professionally clean and restore your tarmac driveway to make it look great again.

Decking

Decking - Professional Pressure Washing, Softwashing and Oil Treatment / Staining Service

Decking should be regularly cleaned and protected with oil treatment (with optional stain) to prevent rotting and organic growth build-up. Neglected and unprotected decking will be affected by algae, might become very slippery and boards will start to rot.

Pressure Washing

Decking can be cleaned by pressure washing but it's important to do it correctly. Never use turbo nozzle as this will lead to damage!

When cleaning wooden boards you should always follow length of the board. Flat surface cleaner is very useful for pressure washing a decking, it minimises chance of striking as well as makes the job much easier. Alternatively you can use a flat vario nozzle with wide spray pattern. Never use too high pressure on wood. When using lance / nozzle always follow length of the board cleaning in one pass from its start to end, never stop half way the board or go back and forward over just small section of full length as this will leave strikes which are not possible to remove.

Our team uses high quality, professional pressure washing equipment. To enhance the cleaning process we also use hot water or steam, our equipment can produce up to 150 degrees celcius.

Softwash
Sodium hypochlorite should not be used on wood! Biocide treatment can be used to try and remove organic growth and prevent re-growth. Biocides are often used in decking oil to enhance the finish and prolong the results.

Always refer to health and safety instructions and use protective equipment when using chemicals.

Decking Oil -
Oil should be re-applied regularly (once every few years). There's number of different products to choose from and some will last longer than other. We believe oil treatment is superior over paint as there's no risk of peeling, it's being absorbed by wood at the same time giving it the best possible protection (whereas paint sits on the top of surface).

Let us professionaly clean / pressure wash, softwash and protect your decking with oil.
